Blood Drive: The Big Red Bus Comes to SFSC on Oct. 30

The OneBlood bloodmobile will be on the circle near the Tower of Enlightenment on the Highlands Campus on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. all blood donors will receive a $20 e-gift card and a Halloween t-shirt. Also, donors receive a wellness checkup, including blood pressure, temperature, iron count, pulse, and cholesterol screening. ID is required for the blood donation and screening.

According to OneBlood, these are the only a few of the many reasons to donate blood:

• Approximately 62% of the population is eligible to donate blood.
• Only 3% of those who are eligible actually donate blood.
• Blood is needed every two seconds.
• Approximately 41,000 units of blood are used each day in the United States.
• Since blood cannot be synthetically made, there is no substitute.
