Employee Assistance Program Available After Hurricane Milton

SFSC Foundation logoThe Employee Assistance Program through the SFSC Foundation is for employees who are facing difficult times. The funds are available to all employees who have been employed with SFSC for six months or more and are in good standing as indicated by their direct supervisor or director.

A need can be anything. Whether it is assistance with a mortgage payment, cellphone bill, hospital bill, or car payment; we can help. Each employee is allowed a one-time request of $500 or less. The steps are easy and confidential.

If you fit these parameters and you are interested, the first step is to contact Don Kesterson at donald.kesterson@southflorida.edu in the Office of Human Resources. He will provide you with the form to fill out and request it be returned to him.

Once approved, SFSC will process the payment request within a week. Each payment must be paid directly to whomever the bill is due. Payments will not be issued directly to employees.

We will need a copy of the invoice/bill from the employee to accompany the request and submit the invoice with the payment from the College. In addition to this, we include a letter that explains everything to the bill holder.

A copy of everything will be provided to the employee for their own records once the process is complete.

This process can take anywhere from a few days to a week once SFSC receives all of the supporting documentation back from the employee. We try to turn the payments around quickly to ensure payments aren’t late due to this process.
