Boil Water Notice, City of Avon Park

The City of Avon Park has issued a Precautionary Boil Water Notice for people who reside within the following boundaries only: U.S. Highway 27 from College Drive to Valerie Boulevard; Sebring Ridge; and the Bluffs of Sebring. This notice remains in effect until the problem has been corrected and a bacteriological examination shows that the water is safe to drink.

On Aug. 26, a water main break occurred on U.S. Highway 27. Therefore, it is advised that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
