Prepare for Convocation

We will start Monday, Aug. 12 at 8:30 a.m. in the University Center (UC) on the Highlands Campus. Breakfast will be provided by the SFSC Chapter of AFC in the lobby of the UC. We will then move to the UC auditorium where Mr. Terry Atchley, chair of the SFSC District Board of Trustees, will welcome everyone back for the 2024-25 academic year. Then, we will hear a keynote by Bill Yeargin, president and CEO of Correct Craft, a leader in the marine industry. He will then move to the lobby of the UC where we will have the opportunity to have his book, which you will receive, signed.

Then, we will return to the UC auditorium to hear College updates, meet new employees, and celebrate years of service with members of the SFSC administration. From there, we will travel to Kelly’s Bistro by the Bay where lunch will be provided by the SFSC Foundation.

After lunch, there will be department, division, and staff meetings to discuss plans for the year. A Faculty Council meeting will cap off the day in the UC (Room 113).

New hires will return to the UC auditorium on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 8:30 a.m. for orientation. Additional department, division, and staff meetings will continue on Tuesday as well.
