On Wednesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 21, SFSC will conduct its annual required State Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF) inspection. The SREF inspection focuses on the College’s compliance with building, fire, safety, and sanitation codes.
During the scheduled time, inspectors accompanied by College personnel will perform a thorough walk through of our facilities (owned or leased). The inspection team will try to minimize its interruption to operations, but will need to have full access to all common areas, classrooms, labs, offices, etc. The team will have its own keys.
How can you help facilitate our inspection team? Please ensure your work area is clean and free of hazards. If you have a space heater, make sure it is code compliant with a tip-over shut off switch. Also, ensure your electrical needs are not daisy chained or use wick cords. Wall plugs that need expanding must use a surge strip. Combustible materials, such as paper, should not be attached to doors.
A specific time schedule has not been assigned to the inspection team; however, it is the goal of the team to start on the Highlands Campus on Wednesday and focus on the offsite areas on Thursday.
