Does Your Department Need a Work Study Student?

Work Study programs provide students with part-time employment that accommodates their class schedule and assists with their educational costs. Work Study students can be hired by various departments for clerical work, tutoring, and general work tasks. Work Study positions are considered seasonal/term positions and if the student is eligible, they can be rehired every term.

To accommodate student needs, we are slowly shifting our processes to become electronic. In addition, we’ve updated forms to make them more user-friendly. Here are a few new updates and reminders:

  • Students that want to know their eligibility for the Work Study program can do so by submitting an Inquiry Form posted on the Financial Aid website. If a student is eligible for the program Financial Aid, we will provide them with their next steps in the hiring process.
  • Work Study students will be paid $10/hr for the 2021-2022 academic year.
  • We have new student time sheets. Those of you that have previously worked with our Work Study time sheets will understand the excitement regarding this change. Time sheets will be submitted monthly with an attached schedule to the designated payroll liaison as usual. As a reminder, students cannot work during their scheduled class times.
  • As a friendly reminder, Work Study students cannot begin working until Human Resources has met with the student and given their approval.
